Shimla, August 2:
Retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Pawanesh Kumar has officially assumed charge as a member of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC). The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, Shimla, in a simple yet dignified function where Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla administered the oath of office and secrecy.

Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Kumar emphasized his commitment to discharging his duties with integrity, transparency, and impartiality. He stated that ensuring fair and transparent conduct of competitive examinations will be his top priority, with the goal of strengthening public trust in the Commission—particularly among youth and job aspirants.

Kumar highlighted the critical role of the Public Service Commission in the state’s administrative framework. He underlined that the Commission has a responsibility to select meritorious and capable candidates through a fair and rigorous process.

He also expressed his intent to introduce greater technological efficiency and adherence to timelines in the Commission’s functioning, so that recruitment exams are conducted accurately and on schedule.
