Shimla, August 1:
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu hosted a special screening of the short film The Last Drop at his official residence, Oak Over, Shimla, on Thursday evening. The film stars Kaun Banega Crorepati sensation Arunoday Sharma in the lead role and is directed by Dr. Paras Prakash. Focusing on pressing global concerns such as melting glaciers and climate change, the 25-minute film will be formally launched on August 1 during The Great Himalayan Water Festival in Shimla.

The Chief Minister praised the film and extended his best wishes to the team for its success. He emphasized that global warming is one of the most serious challenges of our time and called for collective action to mitigate its impact. He especially lauded the creative initiative aimed at raising climate awareness among the youth.

CM Sukhu noted that Himachal Pradesh is already witnessing the effects of global warming. To reduce the damage to life and property, the state government is implementing an Early Warning System, enabling real-time monitoring, forecasting, and timely alerts to ensure swift response during disasters.

The event was also attended by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Arunoday Sharma’s parents Jagdish Sharma and Mamta Paul, and members of the film’s production team.
