Shimla, July 30:
HRTC drivers and conductors have decided to withdraw their earlier decision to implement an eight-hour work schedule starting August 1. The decision came following a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri regarding their long-pending demands.

During the discussion, consensus was reached on several issues, including payment for two months of night overtime, timely salary disbursement on the first of each month, and the promotion of drivers to the post of senior driver, among others.

Man Singh Thakur, president of the HRTC Drivers and Conductors Union, stated that the meeting with the Deputy CM was held in a cordial atmosphere and resulted in agreement on nearly all of their demands.

The Deputy Chief Minister has agreed to the demand for salary payments on the first day of each month. In addition, assurances were given for the designation of 205 senior driver posts, disbursement of six months’ medical reimbursement allowance, funds for new uniforms, and clearance of all pending financial dues within the next two to three months.
