Mandi, July 26:
Police have initiated strict action in connection with the incident in Seraj, Himachal Pradesh, where Cabinet Minister Jagat Singh Negi’s convoy was stopped, and black flags and shoes were thrown at his vehicle. An FIR has been registered against 58 individuals at the Janjehli Police Station. Of these, 12 have been identified by name and address, while efforts are underway to establish the identity of the remaining persons.

The complaint was filed by Congress leader Jagdish Reddy from Seraj, who alleged that the incident was a deliberate and well-planned conspiracy intended to threaten the minister’s safety and dignity. The FIR includes charges such as obstructing a public servant in discharge of duty, disturbing public peace, and issuing criminal threats.

SP Mandi, Sakshi Verma, confirmed the registration of the FIR and said that identification of all accused is being carried out using video footage and other available evidence. Additional names will be added as individuals are identified.

The incident has sparked political tensions across the Mandi district and the broader state. The police are treating the matter seriously and have intensified the investigation, with more arrests and legal action expected in the coming days.
