Una, July 24:
In view of the upcoming Shravan Ashtami Navratri fair at the sacred Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple, the district administration has announced special measures to ensure the convenience, safety, and orderly conduct of devotees. These arrangements will be in force from July 25 to August 3.
District Magistrate Jatin Lal has issued orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to enforce these temporary regulations.
As per the directives, carrying weapons by any individual—except security personnel on duty—will be strictly prohibited during the fair. To control noise pollution, only the temple trust will be permitted to use loudspeakers; others will not be allowed.
Items such as brass bands, drums, or long chimtas will also be banned from the fair premises. Anyone bringing such items will be required to deposit them at designated police checkpoints. The use of polythene, organizing community kitchens (langars) in open areas or along roadsides, and fireworks will also be completely prohibited.
DC Jatin Lal further clarified that only those devotees who have registered through the official ticket counters will be allowed entry for darshan. The administration has appealed to the public for full cooperation to ensure that the fair is conducted peacefully and in an organized manner.
