Shimla, July 22:
The state government’s recently announced Job Trainee Policy continues to draw criticism. While some groups like the Youth Congress and NSUI have come out in support, youth organizations linked to the BJP and many unemployed youngsters are calling the policy a “deception and betrayal.”

Youth activist Srijan Jhamta has launched a sharp attack on the government, questioning its intentions. He stated that while the ruling party had promised one lakh jobs before the elections, the reality now appears to be the exact opposite.

Jhamta alleged that instead of providing jobs, the government is taking them away. For nearly 12 lakh unemployed youth in the state, this policy has come as a shock. He demanded transparency on how many recruitments have actually been made in the last two and a half years.

He further criticized the provision of conducting another eligibility test after two years, saying it will not only create mental stress but also impose a financial burden on the candidates.

Jhamta warned that if the government does not immediately withdraw this “anti-youth” policy, the state’s young people will be compelled to take to the streets in protest. He added that the government must understand that continued betrayal of the unemployed will no longer be tolerated.
