Shimla | July 10:
The monsoon in Himachal Pradesh is expected to continue over the coming days, with the weather department forecasting intense rainfall in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in seven districts, while Orange Alerts have been issued for Sirmaur and Kangra.

According to the latest forecast, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall on July 11 and 12. From July 13 to 16, the likelihood of heavy rain extends to nine districts, including Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur.

Meteorologist Sandeep Kumar Sharma from the Shimla centre said that light to moderate rainfall was recorded in several regions over the past 24 hours. Similar conditions are expected across most parts of the state today, July 10. However, districts such as Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur may see very heavy rainfall in specific areas.

Sharma added that from July 13 to 16, low visibility is also expected in parts of Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur. While monsoon activity has slightly reduced due to its southward shift, rainfall intensity in Himachal is still expected to be significant in the days ahead.

Authorities have urged residents and travelers to stay alert and follow local advisories.
