Shimla, July 9:
BJP National President and Union Minister for Health, Family Welfare, and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, will visit Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh today, July 9, to assess the situation in areas severely affected by the recent natural disaster.

The announcement was made by senior BJP leader and former Speaker of the State Assembly, Dr. Rajeev Bindal, who said that Nadda will tour the worst-hit areas including Thunag, Nachan, and Karsog, which were ravaged by heavy rains and landslides in recent days. Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur, along with other senior BJP leaders, will also accompany him during the visit.

Between June 30 and July 1, Mandi district was battered by relentless rain and flash floods, causing widespread destruction—particularly in the Seraj Valley. According to official records, 14 bodies have been recovered so far, while 28 people are still missing. The torrential rains washed away roads, submerged villages, and damaged dozens of homes, cutting off access to many areas.

Bindal added that during the visit, Nadda will meet local residents to hear their concerns firsthand and will also review ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. He emphasized that the BJP remains committed to public service and stands firmly with the people during times of crisis.

“Nadda’s visit will not only boost the morale of affected communities,” Bindal said, “but also help in accelerating relief measures from the Central Government.”
