Landslides Disrupt Kalka-Shimla Rail Route; All Trains Delayed by Three Hours

Solan, June 29:
Train operations on the Kalka–Shimla railway line were severely affected on Saturday due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall at two locations. The first landslide occurred near Koti Tunnel No. 10 at kilometer 16/18–19, while the second was reported between Koti and Sanwara railway stations at kilometer 25/5–6.
As a result, train number 52457 bound for Shimla from Kalka was halted at Koti station, and train number 52452 was stopped at Gumman station. The accumulation of debris on the tracks caused all trains on the route to be delayed by approximately three hours.
Railway authorities are working on a war footing to clear the debris and restore normal operations. Passengers have been urged to remain patient as efforts continue to resume services safely and promptly.
