Shimla, June 28:
The Himachal Pradesh government has imposed a complete ban on the transfer of government employees across the state. The ban will come into effect from July 1, 2025. The Department of Personnel has issued formal instructions to all administrative secretaries, heads of departments, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners in this regard.

According to the official notification, the state government had initially imposed a partial freeze on transfers from August 5, 2024, which has now been escalated to a total ban. Only transfer cases falling under “Comprehensive Guiding Principles-2013” in exceptional circumstances—and approved personally by the Chief Minister—will be permitted.

The letter, signed by the Joint Secretary of the Personnel Department, directs that the order be communicated to all concerned authorities to ensure strict compliance.
