Shimla, June 25: A group of trainee officers currently undergoing foundational training at the Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today.

The delegation included two officers of the Indian Administrative Service (2024 batch) and nineteen officers from the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service and allied services (2025 batch).

During the interaction, the Chief Minister encouraged the officers to adopt a people-centric approach in governance, prioritizing transparency, efficiency, and public interest in administrative functioning. He extended his best wishes to the officers for their future and emphasized their pivotal role in the effective implementation of government schemes and policies.

CM Sukhu highlighted the importance of working with dedication towards public welfare and good governance, ensuring that the benefits of state-run initiatives reach the intended beneficiaries.

He also spoke about the government’s focused efforts in promoting tourism and climate resilience, which he described as the twin pillars of Himachal Pradesh’s economy. Referring to his recent visit to Shipki La, near the Indo-China border in Kinnaur district, he said the government has launched border tourism in the region. “More than 2,500 visitors have already explored the site, underscoring the growing appeal and the state’s commitment to developing new tourism frontiers,” he said.

Director of Tourism Vivek Bhatia and HIPA Director Rupali Thakur were also present during the meeting.
