Shimla, 24 June: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla paid tribute to former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, the late Virbhadra Singh, on his fourth death anniversary at a memorial event held at the historic Padam Palace in Rampur, Shimla district.
In his address, the Governor remembered Virbhadra Singh as a distinguished statesman, visionary leader, and a dedicated public servant. He said that Singh’s immense contribution to the holistic development of Himachal Pradesh will always be remembered and will continue to inspire generations to come.
The Governor also highlighted Virbhadra Singh’s significant role in preserving the spiritual and cultural identity of the state. He noted that Singh demonstrated his deep sense of responsibility towards Himachal by enacting legislation to prevent religious conversions, thereby protecting the sanctity and cultural heritage of the Devbhoomi.
Family members of the late leader, local residents, dignitaries, and well-wishers also gathered on the occasion to pay their respects.
