Solan, 18 June – To ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the state-level Maa Shoolini Fair 2025, Solan District Magistrate Manmohan Sharma has issued traffic control orders. These directives have been enforced under Sections 115 and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, keeping public safety and convenience in mind.

According to the orders, from 8:00 AM on June 20 to midnight on June 22, all vehicular movement on Solan’s Mall Road will be strictly prohibited, except for emergency vehicles. Additionally, traffic will also be barred from Old DC Office Chowk to Regional Hospital Chowk during this period. However, VIPs, invited performers, and emergency vehicles will be exempt from these restrictions.

At Saproon Chowk near the bridge, the road will remain blocked daily from 10:00 AM to midnight between June 20 and 22. Vehicles will be checked here for security purposes, and only emergency or specially permitted vehicles will be allowed through. Similar restrictions will apply near Hotel The Cliff. Passengers arriving via buses and private vehicles from Chambaghat will need to disembark there, and vehicles will be diverted towards the bypass for parking. Traffic along the Shimla-Chandigarh highway will also be routed via the bypass.

Vehicles coming from Rajgarh side will be halted at Kotlanala Chowk, and redirected to park at Shamti via the bypass. Traffic will also be blocked near Devbhoomi Apartments, with both heavy and light vehicles required to use the New Shamti Bypass. Parking will not be permitted on either side of the road from Regional Hospital Chowk to Shamti, except for vehicles with special passes which will be allowed to drop off or pick up passengers only in the Municipal Corporation-designated parking area.

Entry into Thodo Ground will be regulated depending on crowd size. If the crowd swells beyond a safe limit, vehicular entry will be restricted. These traffic restrictions will not apply to essential service vehicles, fair-duty staff, sanitation and fire services, ambulances, and vehicles bearing authorized stickers.

The administration has appealed for public cooperation to ensure a successful and secure event.
