As parts of Kangra district experience a rise in temperature and dry winds, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa has urged residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from heatstroke.
Precautions to Avoid Heatstroke:

Move the affected person to a shaded or cool area.

Loosen or remove tight clothing.

Wipe the body with a damp cloth or bathe the person in cool water.

Keep your home cool by using curtains, blinds, or shutters; keep windows open at night for ventilation.

If you feel unwell, dizzy, or disoriented, seek immediate medical help.

Drink plenty of fluids such as ORS, lemon water, or salt-sugar solutions to stay hydrated.
Avoid Direct Exposure to Harsh Sunlight:

Try to stay indoors during peak heat hours.

Avoid strenuous physical activities in high temperatures.

Refrain from consuming alcohol, tea, coffee, overly sweet drinks, aerated beverages, or stale food.

Do not let children play under direct sun.

Avoid cooking during peak heat hours.

Never leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle.
DC Bairwa emphasized the importance of public awareness and community cooperation in preventing heat-related health issues during this period of extreme weather.
