The Himachal Pradesh capital witnessed a massive influx of tourists this weekend, as visitors from across the country arrived in large numbers to escape the heat and enjoy Shimla’s cool weather and serene landscapes. With clear skies, refreshing temperatures, and scenic beauty, Shimla once again proved to be a favorite summer getaway for families and vacationers alike.
Popular tourist spots like The Ridge, Mall Road, Kufri, and other nearby attractions were bustling with activity, as tourists soaked in the charm of the hills. The surge in visitors has brought a wave of relief and happiness to local business owners who rely heavily on tourism for their livelihood.
Tourists from Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, and other plains said they chose Shimla to unwind and enjoy quality time with their families. “The weather here is a refreshing change. It feels peaceful and relaxing, and the natural beauty adds to the overall experience,” said a tourist visiting with his family.
The rise in footfall has particularly benefited local vendors. Hotel and restaurant owners, photographers, horse riders, and small traders all reported a significant uptick in business. A horse handler on The Ridge shared, “After a long time, business is picking up again. The weekends are proving to be good for us. On regular days, work is slow, but tourist arrivals over the weekend are helping us get back on track.”
Local photographers, too, are seeing better days as tourists line up to capture memories in the picturesque settings of Shimla. One photographer noted, “With the return of tourists, business has improved noticeably. There was a dip during periods of political tension, but things are starting to look brighter again.”
