Eid-ul-Adha Prayers Offered with Devotion at Eidgahs in Shimla

Shimla, June 7:
Like in the rest of the country, Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated in Shimla with deep faith and festive spirit. Members of the Muslim community gathered at various Eidgahs across the city on Friday morning to offer the special Eid prayers and exchanged warm greetings with one another.

A large number of worshippers assembled at the Ruldu Bhatta Eidgah, where the collective prayers were held peacefully. After the prayers, the gathering exchanged wishes, emphasizing a message of harmony, unity, and brotherhood.

On the occasion, Maulana Mohammad Ahmad Qasmi addressed the gathering and spoke about the significance of Eid-ul-Adha, describing it as a festival rooted in sacrifice, devotion, and unwavering faith. He recalled the historic act of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who was prepared to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.

Maulana Qasmi emphasized that Eid-ul-Adha is not merely about animal sacrifice; its true message lies in the spirit of offering oneself for the greater good of humanity, religion, and nation when required. He added that in today’s times, when questions are being raised about the Constitution and national unity, the Muslim community stands committed to upholding both, even if it requires personal sacrifice.

Following the prayers, the ritual of animal sacrifice was carried out in accordance with Islamic tradition, with the meat distributed among the needy. The event was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner, with the local police ensuring adequate security arrangements. Eid celebrations in Shimla concluded in a spirit of peace and communal harmony.
