Bilaspur, May 31:
Himachal Pradesh’s daughters have once again proven that no goal is too distant when determination leads the way. At the 26th Sub-Junior National Rowing Championship held in Hyderabad, young athletes from Bilaspur delivered an exceptional performance, securing one gold and two bronze medals for the state. This marks a historic milestone — the first-ever gold medal won by a Himachali girl at a national-level rowing competition.

This proud achievement comes courtesy of the young rowers trained at the SAI-NTPC Water Sports Centre, Bilaspur. Competing against top talent from across the country, the girls stood out with their technique, composure, and teamwork. The duo of Archita and Shreya brought home the gold with an inspiring display of synchronization and energy. Meanwhile, teams led by Anamika, Tanishka Thakur, Chahat, and Preesha powered their way to two bronze medals, underscoring the depth of talent in the squad.

Guided by Coach Manisha Chaudhary

Behind this remarkable performance is the tireless effort and mentorship of coach Manisha Chaudhary. Her role in instilling discipline, technical skill, and mental strength in the athletes has been instrumental. “This is just the beginning,” she said. “Our girls are now ready to compete at the international level. This victory is a glimpse of what lies ahead.”

A Historic Moment in Sports for Himachal

This win is more than a collection of medals — it adds a golden chapter to the sporting history of Himachal Pradesh. It reaffirms that the daughters of this hill state are capable of excelling not only on land but also on water and in the skies.

Next Target – The International Stage

The athletes credited their success to hard work and their coach’s unwavering guidance. Their sights are now set on international championships, where they hope to win further laurels for the state and the nation. “We’ll train even harder and prove that Himachal’s daughters are second to none,” they declared. Their victory is sure to inspire many more girls across the state to chase their dreams fearlessly.
