CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Unveils Development Projects Worth ₹78.47 Crore in Banjar Constituency

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dedicated and laid the foundation stones for 19 development projects worth ₹78.47 crore in the Banjar Assembly constituency of Kullu district today.

Among the key inaugurations were a ₹7.32 crore bridge in Banjar tehsil, the Banjar bypass, and the ₹1.38 crore Mangalore bridge on NH-305. He also inaugurated multiple drinking water supply schemes including a ₹2.80 crore lift water supply project for Tinda, Sharan, Bajohi, Galuun, Laida, Teelru, and Chanaun; a ₹2.17 crore project in the Diyar Gram Panchayat of Kullu tehsil for Dodni-Aage and Bhatgran basti; and a ₹2.06 crore Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme from Larji in CV Kotla, Banjar tehsil.

Other projects inaugurated included a ₹2.80 crore multi-storey parking facility at Banjar bus stand and a ₹1.35 crore science laboratory in Sainj.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for several critical infrastructure projects, including the ₹4.73 crore Johal Jeshta Ashni Puiin road, the ₹4.65 crore Jwal-Tindah via Seri Bela Byogi road, and a ₹7.11 crore bridge across the Tirthan River in Banjar. Additionally, two single-span steel truss bridges over the Sainj Khad—costing ₹6.20 crore and ₹5.82 crore respectively—were also announced.

In response to damage caused by recent rains in Sainj tehsil, the Chief Minister launched ₹3.72 crore in restoration works in the Sainj market and surrounding areas. He also announced ₹8.02 crore for flood protection along both banks of the Beas River from Shadabai to Bajaura, and ₹1.90 crore for similar measures on the Tirthan Khad near Banjar.

Further flood mitigation projects include ₹3.40 crore for protection works at the KVK Bajaura experimental farm, ₹4.85 crore for the Tirthan Jibhi Khad near Dawala Shairi and Ratwah, ₹1.83 crore along the left bank of Sainj Khad in various areas of Sainj tehsil, and ₹6.35 crore for comprehensive flood protection works on the Jibhi and Tirthan Khads across Hidab, Ghiagi, Jibhi, Dawada, Damothi, Bathad, Faryadi, Gushaini, Sheropa, Deuri, Kandi Dhar, Kalu Ropa, and Khundan to Mangalore.

These projects are expected to enhance infrastructure, ensure safe water supply, improve connectivity, and boost flood resilience in the region.
