UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam to Be Held in Dharamshala on May 25

Dharamshala, May 24:
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi, will conduct the Civil Services Preliminary Examination on May 25, 2025. In Dharamshala, three exam centers have been set up for this prestigious national-level examination. The information was shared by Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa during a review meeting held at the NIC Conference Hall of the DC office to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.

Present at the meeting were Pankaj Hazarika, Additional Secretary of UPSC, Under Secretaries Subhashish Roy and Deep Pant, who offered guidance on the exam arrangements and briefed local officials on their responsibilities.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the examination will be held at the following centers in Dharamshala:

  • Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Dharamshala

  • Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Dharamshala

  • Government Postgraduate College, Dharamshala

He added that necessary staff and officers will be deployed for the conduct of the exam and that departments concerned have been directed to ensure proper arrangements for electricity, drinking water, and seating at the centers. Adequate police deployment will also be ensured to maintain security and order.

DC Bairwa noted that having a UPSC exam center in Kangra will benefit not only local candidates but also aspirants from neighboring districts, who will no longer have to travel long distances to take the test.

Pankaj Hazarika, Additional Secretary of UPSC, stated that the exam will be held in two sessions on May 25:

  • Morning session: 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM

  • Afternoon session: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Candidates must report to the exam centers at least one hour before the scheduled start of the exam.

Under Secretary Subhashish Roy shared that a total of 864 candidates are expected to appear at the three designated centers in Dharamshala. Also present at the meeting were ADM Shilpi Beakta, AC to DC Subhash Gautam, and officials from the education and postal departments.
