Eight Himachal HAS Officers Promoted to IAS Cadre, Centre Issues Official Notification

Shimla, May 23:
In a significant development for state bureaucracy, eight officers from the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HAS) have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The Department of Personnel and Training, under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, issued an official notification on Friday confirming their induction into the 2023 selection list.

The officers will serve under the Himachal Pradesh cadre and have been appointed to the IAS on a probationary basis.

The officers promoted to IAS are:

  • Dr. Madhu Chaudhary

  • Manoj Kumar-II

  • Prabha Rajeev

  • Satish Kumar Sharma

  • Ashish Kumar Kohli

  • Jitendra Sanjta

  • Virender Sharma

  • Hemis Negi

These promotions have been made against vacancies that arose between January 1 and December 31, 2023. The notification also notes that the appointments are subject to the outcome of several writ petitions (CWPs) currently pending before the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
