Three Youths Caught with Chitta in Una; Police Raids in Andaura and Basal

Una, May 18:
In a crackdown on drug-related activities, Una police have arrested three young men in possession of chitta (heroin) from Upper Andaura and Basal villages. A total of 4.67 grams of the contraband was seized during two separate operations. FIRs have been registered, and further investigation is underway.

According to reports, the first incident took place in Upper Andaura under the Amb sub-division. During a routine traffic check, police stopped a bike rider and, upon searching him, recovered 2.20 grams of chitta. The accused, identified as Santosh Thakur, a resident of the same village, was immediately taken into custody.

The second case unfolded in Basal, near Una headquarters, where police were patrolling the area. Officers stopped a scooter during the patrol and searched its two riders. Shammi Khan and Shubham Sharma, both residents of Bhoranj in Hamirpur district, were found in possession of 2.47 grams of chitta.

Una Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav confirmed the arrests and stated that cases have been registered against all three accused. The investigation is ongoing to determine the source and further connections related to the seized drugs.
