Dharamshala, May 15:
In a major operation on Wednesday, the Northern Range team of the Himachal Pradesh State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau apprehended Tilak Raj, a resident of Nagrota Bagwan in Kangra district, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹40,000.

Tilak Raj is currently posted as an Economic Investigator with the Industries Department under the Single Window Clearance Agency (SWCA) at Sansarpur Terrace, Kangra.

According to information provided by the Vigilance Bureau, Tilak Raj had demanded the bribe from the complainant, Prabhakaran of Barwada (Kangra), in exchange for issuing a favorable inspection report related to the transfer of leasehold rights of an industrial plot.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, the Vigilance team laid a trap and caught the accused in the act of accepting the bribe. A case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) at the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau Police Station in Kangra, Dharamshala.
