New Delhi, May 12 — Special Correspondent:
In a powerful address to the nation on the night of May 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the success of Operation Sindoor, calling it a symbol of India’s military prowess, national resolve, and collective unity. The operation was launched in direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians and provoked a unified national outcry for action.

Opening his address, the Prime Minister saluted the bravery of Indian soldiers, the diligence of intelligence agencies, and the contributions of Indian scientists. Dedicating Operation Sindoor to the women of India—every mother, sister, and daughter—he said the campaign was not merely a military operation, but a solemn vow of justice. “The terrorists wiped away the vermilion from our sisters’ foreheads—we wiped out their hideouts,” he said with resolve.

According to the Prime Minister, during the night of May 6–7, Indian forces executed precise strikes on terror hubs in Bahawalpur and Muridke inside Pakistan—long known as breeding grounds for global terrorism. These camps have had historical links to terror attacks across India and other countries. Over a hundred terrorists were reportedly eliminated, including several top operatives who had been orchestrating anti-India plots from within Pakistani territory for years.

PM Modi revealed that in retaliation, a panicked Pakistan attempted to target Indian military installations, civilian zones, temples, and gurdwaras. However, India’s air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized incoming missiles and drones. “Pakistan never anticipated such a swift and calculated response from India,” he said. The counterstrikes also inflicted significant damage to Pakistani air bases, weakening their military capabilities.

The Prime Minister emphasized that while India has paused further military action at Pakistan’s request, this is by no means a truce. “Every move Pakistan makes will now be measured against its intent,” he stated, describing Operation Sindoor as a turning point and the beginning of a new normal in India’s fight against terror.

PM Modi laid out three clear principles that will now define India’s security doctrine:

  1. Any terror attack on India will be met with an equivalent response.

  2. Nuclear blackmail will not deter India.

  3. India now makes no distinction between terrorists and the governments that shelter them.

He pointed to recent events where Pakistani military officials offered tributes to slain terrorists, calling it the clearest proof yet of state-sponsored terrorism.

Highlighting the technological edge of the operation, the Prime Minister said that India has established its superiority in new-age warfare. Indigenous missiles, drones, and defense systems played a decisive role in the operation, marking a major milestone in India’s path toward self-reliance in defense technology.

“This is not an era of war,” PM Modi stated, “but it is an era to uproot terrorism—and India will lead this effort.”

Concluding his speech, he appealed for national unity and referenced the teachings of Lord Buddha, noting, “The path to peace must pass through strength.” He warned that if Pakistan wants to avoid destruction, it must dismantle its terror infrastructure completely. “Our position is clear—terrorism and talks cannot go hand in hand. Terrorism and trade cannot coexist. Water and blood cannot flow together.”

PM Modi’s address was more than a declaration of military success—it was a clear and forceful message to the world: India will no longer tolerate terrorism or those who enable it.
