Haryana Soldier Martyred in Pakistani Shelling Along LoC; Border Villages Evacuated

Poonch, May 7 – A fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir has resulted in the martyrdom of an Indian Army soldier. The unprovoked shelling occurred in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district.

The martyred soldier has been identified as Dinesh Kumar, a native of Palwal district in Haryana. He was critically injured in the shelling and was immediately rushed to a military hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

His mortal remains will be brought to his hometown in Palwal on Thursday, where he will be laid to rest with full military honors.

Border Villages Evacuated Amid Escalating Tensions

In view of rising tensions along the border, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district ordered the evacuation of all villages beyond the Ditch area on Wednesday evening. Around 4 p.m., announcements were made urging residents to move to safer locations. The local administration, along with security forces, is closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary precautions to ensure civilian safety.
