Shimla, May 5:
In a pioneering move aimed at addressing public grievances related to revenue matters, the Himachal Pradesh government has successfully resolved more than 3.25 lakh pending cases through Revenue Lok Adalats held across the state between October 2023 and March 2025. This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to accountable governance and citizen-centric service delivery.
A government spokesperson shared that during this period, 2,75,004 mutation cases, 16,258 partition cases, 27,404 demarcation cases, and 7,260 correction cases were settled. This marks the first time in the state’s history that such large-scale revenue-related grievances have been addressed through Lok Adalats.
By holding these Lok Adalats regularly, the government has significantly reduced the need for citizens to make repeated visits to revenue offices for routine issues. This has led to improved efficiency in service delivery and eased the burden on the general public.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the administration has also emphasized the adoption of digital tools and systems to improve access to essential services. Revenue officials are being equipped with the necessary platforms to ensure that services are available online, promoting a transparent, responsive, and tech-enabled governance ecosystem.
The first Revenue Lok Adalat was held in October 2023 and has since become a regular mechanism at tehsil and sub-tehsil levels for timely resolution of disputes. The success of this initiative highlights the government’s commitment to making governance more efficient, inclusive, and participatory.
