Rain Threat Looms Over First IPL Match in Dharamshala — Here’s the Weather Outlook
Dharamshala, May 2: The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala is set to host three IPL matches this May, with the first scheduled for May 4 at 7:30 PM between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Punjab Kings. The Lucknow squad arrived in the city on May 1, while their captain Rishabh Pant had already reached earlier. The team received a warm and traditional welcome, adding to the growing cricket fever across the town.
However, weather may play spoilsport. The Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall between May 1 and 7, accompanied by a yellow alert on select days. If these forecasts hold, the opening match on May 4 could be disrupted by rain. Dharamshala has previously seen IPL games postponed due to inclement weather, raising concerns among fans and organizers alike.
Following this, the stadium will host two more matches — on May 8 and May 11 — both of which are crucial for the teams’ playoff aspirations.
