Public Outrage Erupts Over Pahalgam Terror Attack; VHP Stages Protest in Shimla
Shimla, April 23 – The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, has sparked widespread outrage across the country. In Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, citizens staged a strong protest under the banner of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), demanding strict action against terrorism.
Demonstrators gathered outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office, holding a sit-in to voice their anger over the cowardly attack, which targeted unarmed tourists. Protesters urged the central government to adopt a tougher stance against terrorism.
Speaking during the protest, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, regional coordinator of the Hindu Jagran Manch, condemned the attack, calling it a “blot on humanity.” He described the targeting of innocent civilians as a cowardly act and said it had deeply shaken the Hindu community across the nation.
Sharma further appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to send a clear and uncompromising message to Pakistan that such attacks on Indian soil will not be tolerated. “The Prime Minister should ride a tank to the Pakistan border and warn Islamic extremists and terrorists that any threat to India’s sovereignty will be met with a decisive response,” he said.
The protest concluded with slogans demanding swift and strong retaliation against the perpetrators, and a tribute was paid to the victims of the attack.
