Shimla, April 18: A blood donation camp will be organized at Radha Krishna Temple in Mashobra on April 20 to mark the first death anniversary of Sister Seema Saraswati, a revered nurse remembered for her selfless service to patients. The initiative is being led by Umang Foundation in collaboration with Sanatan Dharma Sabha and the Mashobra Vyapar Mandal.
Jyoti Walia, Executive Member of the Indian Nursing Council and Vice President (North Zone) of the Trained Nurses Association of India, will grace the event as the chief guest.
Honoring the Legacy of a Dedicated Nurse
According to Vinod Yogacharya, trustee of Umang Foundation, the blood bank team from IGMC will facilitate the collection. The camp not only aims to promote voluntary blood donation but also to celebrate the selfless legacy of Sister Seema, who left a lasting impact through her nursing career.
Sister Seema Saraswati, a graduate of Sister Nivedita Government Nursing College, served with distinction at Kamla Nehru Hospital and IGMC Hospitals in Shimla and Rampur. Known for her compassion and dedication, she was fondly called the epitome of selfless service.
A Tragic Loss Remembered Through Service
On April 20, 2024, after finishing her duty at IGMC, Sister Seema tragically lost her life in a road accident in Mashobra, after being hit by a bus. Her untimely passing left a void in the medical fraternity and among the many patients whose lives she touched.
Vinod Yogacharya emphasized that this blood donation camp is a tribute to her noble spirit and a way to highlight the invaluable role of nurses in society.
Local residents, medical professionals, and youth are encouraged to participate and make this humanitarian event a meaningful tribute to a life devoted to healing others.
