Shimla, April 17: Just a day after a bomb threat targeted the Mandi Deputy Commissioner’s office, a similar threat has now been received at the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat in Shimla. An anonymous email sent to the Chief Secretary’s office warned of a bomb blast scheduled for 1:30 AM, triggering an immediate security alert.

Bomb Squad Deployed, Secretariat Searched Overnight

As soon as the email was received, security personnel cordoned off the area, and the bomb disposal squad was called in. The team conducted an extensive search of the Secretariat complex throughout the night, but no explosive devices or suspicious materials were found. Despite the clean sweep, heightened security measures remain in place.

All necessary security arrangements have been made, and the process to trace the sender has been initiated,” he stated. He also mentioned that central agencies will be involved in the investigation for deeper cyber tracking.

Cyber & Police Teams on High Alert

A joint team of police officials and cyber experts has been deployed to trace the origin of the threatening email. Authorities suspect a possible connection between the threats received in Mandi and Shimla, although this is yet to be confirmed.
