Solan, April 15 – The historic Thodo ground in Solan turned into a vibrant arena of patriotism and pride as the 78th Himachal Day celebrations were held with grandeur and deep cultural spirit on Tuesday. The ceremony was presided over by Harshwardhan Chauhan, State Minister for Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, and Labor and Employment.
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the Minister inspecting a well-coordinated march past by contingents of Police, Home Guards, NCC, and school students. The patriotic fervor in the air was palpable, with the ground echoing with slogans of unity and love for the motherland.
A series of cultural performances, blending patriotic songs with Himachali folk traditions, enthralled the audience. The melodies stirred emotions, and the vibrant folk dances showcased the rich heritage of the hill state, leaving everyone spellbound.
In his address, Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan extended warm wishes on Himachal Day and reflected on the state’s remarkable journey since its formation in 1948. He emphasized that Himachal Pradesh has made great strides in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare, thanks to both the government’s visionary policies and the dedication of its people.
He highlighted key self-employment initiatives for the youth, women empowerment programs, and support systems for senior citizens, underlining the inclusive development path the state is pursuing.
The function concluded with the felicitation of cultural performers and citizens honored for outstanding social service, followed by the resonating notes of the national anthem.
