Mandi, April 13:
Mild earthquake tremors were felt on Sunday morning in Sundernagar subdivision of Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, triggering brief panic among local residents.
According to early seismic reports, the earthquake struck at around 9:18 AM, with a magnitude of 3.4 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was traced to the Jaidevi area, approximately 7 kilometers beneath the earth’s surface.
No Casualties or Property Damage
Residents quickly rushed out of their homes after feeling the tremors, which lasted only a few seconds. While there was brief panic, no loss of life or property damage has been reported.
The local administration promptly surveyed the area and assured that everything remains under control. Officials have confirmed that no emergency situation has arisen as a result of the quake.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in the hill state, which lies in a seismic zone, but today’s tremor served as a reminder of the region’s vulnerability, even as preparedness remains high.
