Siddh Hanuman Temple of Johanaghat
Shimla, April 12: The serene hills of Johanaghat in Sarahan were filled with spiritual fervor on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, as the ancient Siddh Hanuman Temple hosted a grand religious celebration marked by devotion, unity, and cultural richness. Enthusiastic chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bajrang Bali ki Jai” echoed throughout the temple premises from early morning.
The day-long celebrations began with soulful bhajan-kirtan and devotional singing that continued till late evening. A collective recitation of Sunderkand, Hanuman Chalisa, and Hanuman Stuti was organized, drawing devotees not just from the local area but also from distant places who came to seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman.
The highlight of the day was the grand Bhandara (community feast) arranged by local businessman Tarun and his mother Babita Arora. The duo has been actively involved in organizing religious events in the region. Hundreds of devotees partook in the prasad, experiencing both spiritual nourishment and community bonding.
Under the guidance of Mahant Parmeshwar Das Ji, the temple has seen a significant revival over the past decade. His efforts, supported by local residents, have transformed the temple into a vibrant center of faith, attracting not just regional devotees but also pilgrims from across Himachal and neighboring states.
Despite a brief spell of rainfall during the day, the spirits of the devotees remained undeterred. On the contrary, the refreshing weather added to the divine ambiance, enhancing the experience of all who were present.
Children and youth also took active part in organizing the program, making it a celebration of both devotion and community spirit. The spiritual energy, along with the scenic natural beauty of Johanaghat, made the celebration truly memorable.
Today, thanks to the continuous dedication of the temple authorities and the unwavering faith of the locals, Siddh Hanuman Temple stands as a beacon of spiritual unity and religious heritage in the region.
