Mandi, April 10 – Bollywood actress and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut has once again stirred political waters by lashing out at the Himachal Pradesh government over an unusually high electricity bill at her Manali residence. During a public interaction in her hometown Sarkaghat, Kangana expressed outrage after receiving a bill of ₹80,000–₹90,000, a sharp jump from the usual ₹5,000–₹6,000 she used to pay.
Kangana sarcastically remarked, “Neither have I set up a factory, nor a Gharat (watermill) in my house. Then how did the electricity bill shoot up so drastically?” She added that her six-bedroom house is mostly unoccupied, with only 3–4 servants staying there.
The issue, according to Kangana, is not limited to her alone. She claimed that several businessmen across the state are also burdened with electricity bills ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh, and blamed the current Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government for the alleged mismanagement.
Political Jibes in Sarkaghat
While addressing her supporters in Sarkaghat, Kangana also expressed disappointment over the low voter lead she received from her own hometown in the last elections. In a dig at Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, she said, “Being the son of Rampur, Raja Babu got the highest lead. I’m the daughter of Sarkaghat—shouldn’t I have received the same love?”
In a light-hearted yet pointed comment, she added, “If Vikramaditya is Raja Babu, then I am Queen! I’m no less—but Sarkaghat will regret this.”
Slams Pratibha Singh Over MP Fund Remarks
Kangana didn’t stop there. She also took aim at Congress state president and former MP Pratibha Singh, who had recently claimed that Kangana had been missing from Mandi constituency for the past three years. Kangana hit back saying, “It’s not even been 8 months since I became an MP! In this short time, I visited Bharmour and allocated ₹4 crore from the MP fund—while Pratibha Singh couldn’t even spend a single rupee during her term.”
With her fiery remarks and continued criticism of the state government, Kangana is once again making headlines—not just as a celebrity, but as a politician ready to take on her rivals head-on.
