Shimla, April 10: In a shocking act of vandalism, two Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses stationed overnight at Kaula Wala Bhood were attacked by unknown miscreants who shattered the buses’ windows by pelting stones. The incident took place late Wednesday night, causing major disruption to public transport and inconvenience to daily commuters on the Nahan to Kaula Wala Bhood route.

According to Acting Station In-charge Shamsher Singh, the buses had completed their route for the day and were parked at the usual night halt spot. When the driver and conductor returned to the vehicles early Thursday morning, they found the windows of both buses smashed, pointing to a deliberate act of vandalism.

Due to the damage, the buses were unable to operate on time, leaving many passengers stranded and sparking public outcry. Local residents have condemned the incident and are demanding strict action against those responsible. Many have raised concerns over the safety of public property and the need for increased security measures in the area.

The police have launched an investigation based on the complaint filed by HRTC officials, though no leads have emerged yet regarding the identities of the culprits. Depot in-charge Shamsher Singh has confirmed the damage and assured that necessary steps are being taken to ensure service resumes promptly.

This incident adds to growing concerns over the safety of public transport infrastructure in remote regions, urging authorities to act swiftly and bring the perpetrators to justice.
