Sukhu Government Launches School Adoption Program to Enhance Educational Standards in Kangra
Dharamshala, April 9:
In a significant move to improve the quality of education, the Sukhu government has successfully adopted all 548 government schools in Kangra district through its innovative “Apna Vidyalaya: School Adoption Program.” This initiative is designed to enhance the educational environment and motivate both students and teachers, with the involvement of local leaders, officials, and community members in the growth of these institutions.
The adoption program has seen enthusiastic participation from ministers, MPs, MLAs, retired officials, and other prominent citizens. In Kangra, key figures such as Tourism Corporation Chairman RS Bali, Cooperative Bank Chairman Sanjay Chauhan, and several SDMs, DCs, and senior officers from various departments have taken on the responsibility of supporting and improving local schools. Notably, 166 public representatives, 24 officials, and 282 retired professors and principals have already adopted schools, further strengthening the program’s reach.
Deputy Director of Education Vikas Mahajan highlighted the positive impact of the adoption program on the education system, noting that students are showing increased enthusiasm and excitement. The program also addresses critical issues such as drug abuse prevention, career counseling, and providing legal and nutrition-related information to students.
This initiative connects the education system with broader social responsibility, ensuring that students not only receive academic guidance but also gain life skills, career insights, and support for competitive exams. The program encourages participation in social activities, helping to shape well-rounded, socially responsible citizens.
DC Hemraj Bairwa praised the program, urging intellectuals and society members to contribute to shaping the future of the nation by becoming part of this vital educational reform. With the successful implementation of the school adoption initiative, the Sukh government is making tangible strides in its mission to improve the educational landscape of Himachal Pradesh.
