Dharamshala, 08 April:
The much-awaited Dhummu Shah Fair in Dari officially began today with a flag ceremony and worship at the revered Bharari Mata Temple. The inaugural event was marked by the presence of Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, who formally launched the fair while also performing the flag ceremony. The fair, a beloved annual tradition in the region, will run from April 8 to April 15.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa emphasized the cultural significance of the Dhummu Shah Fair, highlighting that it is a longstanding tradition deeply woven into the fabric of local community life. “This fair holds a special place in the hearts of the people, and it is our responsibility to make it a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone,” he said.

The fair will feature a variety of attractions, including swings for children, wrestling events, and two vibrant cultural evenings showcasing local talent. The Deputy Commissioner further announced that all necessary steps had been taken to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors. CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the fair area to maintain law and order, and additional security measures have been put in place.

Additionally, Bairwa highlighted the administration’s efforts to improve drinking water facilities for the fairgoers and ensure a smooth, secure environment throughout the event.

Fair Officer SDM Sanjeev Bhot welcomed the chief guest and provided detailed information about the fair, noting the involvement of various committees formed to support the event’s success. The Deputy Commissioner also urged all the committees to collaborate effectively to ensure the fair’s smooth execution.

With a mix of tradition, culture, and entertainment, this year’s Dhummu Shah Fair is expected to be a grand celebration for the local community and visitors alike.
