Solan, April 7:
In a significant move to foster balanced urban development, the Municipal Corporation of Solan has presented its fifth and final budget for the current tenure, amounting to a total of Rs. 205 crore. The budget was passed unanimously during a meeting chaired by Mayor Usha Sharma, marking a key milestone for the city’s growth and infrastructure.

Mayor Usha Sharma stated that the budget has been designed with a focus on the holistic development of Solan. Key highlights include a robust allocation for enhancing the drinking water system, constructing new water tanks, and beautifying the city’s parks. “We have ensured that this budget prioritizes the needs of the residents and the future growth of Solan,” she said.

One of the standout features of this budget is the equitable distribution of funds across all wards in the city. Each ward has been allocated Rs. 50 lakh to address local needs, ensuring that every area of Solan receives attention and development according to its specific requirements. This move is aimed at promoting balanced growth throughout the city, benefiting all its residents equally.

The budget is also seen as a crucial step towards improving Solan’s basic amenities and urban beautification efforts. With a strong focus on infrastructure, the new initiatives are expected to significantly enhance the quality of life for the city’s population.

The approval of this budget reflects the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to creating a more sustainable and livable Solan, where infrastructure and aesthetics go hand-in-hand to meet the needs of a growing urban population.
