Shimla, April 01: The Himachal Pradesh government has issued two significant notifications regarding the reappointment and extension of services for officers in the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Service (HPSS). These decisions are aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the state administration, with a focus on key positions in the Finance Department.

As per the first notification, retired HPSS officer Rajendra Sharma has been re-inducted into service. He will serve in the ex-cadre post of Joint Secretary (Finance and Institutional Finance) for a one-year term, beginning from April 1, 2025, and continuing until March 31, 2026. The reappointment has been made in the public interest, with the Finance Department having already approved the move. Rajendra Sharma’s extensive experience and expertise are expected to significantly contribute to the efficient functioning of the Finance Department during his tenure.

In the second notification, the government has decided to extend the service of Additional Secretary (Finance) Pradeep Kumar for one more year. His extended service will now continue until March 31, 2026. To accommodate this extension, the government has created a new ex-cadre post of Additional Secretary (HPSS). Under the terms of the extension, Pradeep Kumar will remain on his current pay scale and will not receive any new increments or promotions during this period. The Finance Department has also granted prior approval for this extension.

These decisions are part of the Himachal Pradesh government’s ongoing efforts to maintain stability and efficiency within key administrative roles. By retaining experienced officers like Rajendra Sharma and Pradeep Kumar, the government aims to ensure the smooth implementation of policies and initiatives, particularly in the crucial area of finance.

The reappointment and extension of services for these officers reflect the state government’s commitment to maintaining a skilled and experienced administrative workforce to meet the demands of governance.
