Shimla, March 31: The much-anticipated police constable recruitment process in Shimla is set to begin on Tuesday, April 1, at the Police Line Bharari. On the first day of the recruitment drive, around 800 youth will demonstrate their physical fitness through a series of ground tests. The Shimla Police Administration has completed all preparations, and officials inspected the recruitment site on Monday to ensure everything is in place for the smooth execution of the process.

Ground Tests Begin at 6 AM

The recruitment process is a golden opportunity for the unemployed youth of Shimla district. Candidates are required to arrive at the recruitment site early, as the ground tests will commence promptly at 6 AM. While the recruitment process has already been completed in other districts of the state, Shimla’s recruitment starts today, making it an eagerly awaited event for local youth.

The physical efficiency tests, including a range of challenges, will be a critical part of the recruitment process. Among the tests, the 100-meter race has been newly included this time, alongside the regular physical tasks. Additionally, a dope test has been made mandatory for all candidates to ensure fair and clean recruitment.

E-Admission Cards and Required Documents

To participate in the recruitment, candidates must present their e-admission card at the entrance. If any candidate has not received their e-admission card, they have been advised to contact the Himachal Pradesh State Public Service Commission for assistance. It is important to note that no outsider will be allowed entry to the ground during the recruitment process.

Candidates are also required to bring essential documents for verification. These include two copies of the admit card, two copies of the Himachali bonafide certificate, 10th and 12th class certificates, a date of birth verification certificate, and original certificates for reserved category candidates. A valid photo identification card (such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, or driving license) is also mandatory for entry.

Strict security and procedural rules have been set for the recruitment. No extra luggage will be allowed on the premises, and mobile phones are prohibited. Parents or guardians of the candidates will also not be permitted inside the recruitment site.

Large-Scale Participation in the Recruitment Process

In total, around 13,000 candidates will participate in the recruitment exam across the state. This includes both men and women vying for one of the 1,088 police constable positions available in Himachal Pradesh. Of these, 12,975 candidates will take part in the physical efficiency tests at the recruitment sites.

To ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of the recruitment process, 120 police personnel, including 12 police officers, have been deployed at the Bharari Police Ground. These officers will help maintain law and order and assist with the administration of the tests.

Recruitment Process to Continue Until April 11

The recruitment process will run from April 1 to April 11 at the Police Line Bharari. Each day, the recruitment activities will begin at 6 AM, with candidates taking part in physical tests designed to assess their endurance and agility. The Shimla Police Department has made necessary arrangements to ensure that the process is completed smoothly, efficiently, and transparently.

With strict rules in place and extensive arrangements for the comfort of candidates, the authorities are hopeful that the recruitment will be successful and fair. The police recruitment in Shimla is expected to be a significant event for local youth seeking employment, with many hoping to secure a position within the Himachal Pradesh Police Force.
