Una, March 21: In a bizarre turn of events, two chain snatchers in Rakkad Colony of Una district became victims of a fraud themselves after stealing a gold chain from a school teacher. The incident, which took place earlier this week, has since become a topic of widespread discussion and even humor after BJP leader Satpal Satti shared the unusual story in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.

According to reports, the school teacher was on her way to work when the two thieves approached her, snatched the chain from her neck, and quickly fled the scene. However, their joy was short-lived. After the theft, the thieves headed to a local goldsmith to sell the chain, only to be met with an unexpected shock. The goldsmith examined the chain and informed them that it was not gold, but brass.

Realizing they had been duped, the thieves grew furious and decided to take matters into their own hands. Determined to get back at the teacher, they returned to Rakkad Colony the following day. When they spotted the teacher, they angrily threw the chain back at her and slapped her in a fit of rage. As they left, they taunted her, saying, “Masterni! You should wear a gold chain, you have crossed the limit! Where are you going to take so much money?”

This strange sequence of events has left the local community in disbelief and has quickly spread as a humorous topic of conversation. People are jokingly saying, “Now even thieves have started getting duped!” The bizarre incident has also highlighted a peculiar form of irony — the thieves, who are typically the perpetrators of crime, ended up being scammed themselves.

BJP leader Satpal Satti, while sharing the incident in the assembly, couldn’t help but laugh at the turn of events. He remarked that it was an unusual case where the victims of crime had, in fact, been taken advantage of, only to become the subject of public humor. “This is a unique and almost unbelievable story,” Satti said, adding that the incident shows that no one is immune to deception, not even those who indulge in criminal activities.

The police are currently investigating the matter, although no formal complaints have been lodged by the teacher, who was likely too shocked by the incident to take further action. Local authorities have assured that they are looking into the case from all angles, including the potential for any other incidents of fraud or theft in the area.

While the teacher may have been an unintended target of the thieves’ frustration, the event has certainly lightened the mood of the locals, with many amused by the turn of events. In a strange twist of fate, what began as a chain-snatching incident has evolved into a humorous tale of retribution and fraud. As the story circulates, it serves as a reminder that sometimes life’s ironies can bring about surprising and unexpected outcomes.
