With the weather clearing up after a spell of snowfall, the district administration has made all necessary arrangements to ensure the event is a grand success. The festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions of Lahaul-Spiti, attracting both tourists and locals alike.

The Snow Festival is designed to showcase the unique lifestyle and ancient folk culture of Lahaul-Spiti, while also promoting tourism and providing local residents with self-employment opportunities during the winter months. The festival aims to increase the influx of tourists to this stunning region, known for its picturesque valleys and serene landscapes. As the weather improves, tourists have already started flocking to the region to experience the beauty of Lahaul-Spiti, and the festival is set to be a major draw for visitors.

The festivities at Tandi Sangam Ghat will feature a blend of traditional cultural activities, including ancient folk dances that highlight the region’s cultural diversity. These performances will be complemented by the irresistible aroma of traditional Lahauli dishes, prepared by local women and youth groups. The locals, dressed in the traditional attire of the region, will warmly welcome the visitors, offering them an authentic taste of the local cuisine, which includes specialties unique to the area. The festival will also feature a range of sports activities, providing entertainment for all age groups.

In a review meeting held ahead of the event, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajneesh Sharma emphasized the importance of making the necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for tourists. He instructed the nodal officers of the organizing committee to prioritize basic facilities, such as seating arrangements, sanitation, and security, for the guests attending the event. The district administration is working hard to ensure that the venue is fully prepared to accommodate the visitors.

SDM Rajneesh Sharma further explained that the main objective of the Snow Festival is to introduce tourists to the rich cultural heritage of Lahaul-Spiti. He stated, “We want the tourists who come to this area to have a pleasant and memorable experience. When they leave, they should be eager to return and experience the beauty of these picturesque valleys once again.” By highlighting the region’s folk culture and local traditions, the festival aims to create a lasting impression on visitors and foster a deeper appreciation for Lahaul-Spiti’s unique way of life.

With its combination of cultural performances, local cuisine, and scenic beauty, the Snow Festival-2 promises to be a memorable event for tourists and locals alike.
