HRTC Bus Driver’s Timely Actions Help AIIMS Bilaspur Security Staff To Save Life

Bilaspur, March 12: An HRTC bus driver suffered a heart attack when he was driving from Ghumarwin to AIIMS Bilaspur and a major tragedy was averted near AIIMS campus. The incident took place when the bus driver had started feeling ill near the Gate No. 1 of AIIMS. In a show of quick thinking, he managed to stop the bus at the gate, then fainted.
Panic spread through the passengers as the bus came to a stop. But the security men deployed at AIIMS immediately reacted. They promptly ran to the bus, dragged out the driver, and arranged for an ambulance. The driver was immediately taken to the emergency ward of AIIMS Bilaspur.
Once at the hospital, the medical team quickly performed first aid and stabilized the driver. The doctors said the driver was stable and out of immediate danger. The hospital staff’s prompt action has been credited with saving his life.
Passengers on the bus also lauded the security personnel and the AIIMS administration for their swift and coordinated response. Passengers also said that had the driver not brought the bus to a halt in time, and had the security team not acted so quickly, a serious accident could’ve taken place.
The AIIMS Bilaspur administration has subsequently informed the Transport Department about the incident to provide the driver with the necessary medical support and monitoring. The driver is being monitored continuously, and his health will continue to be closely monitored.
