Shimla, 11 March 2025 – A delegation of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), under Managing Director Nipun Jindal, met with Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri in Shimla today to announce successful news of the Corporation at the National Public Transport Excellence Awards 2023-24. Bagging four prestigious awards, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has made significant strides in the field of public transportation services in the state, making him a proud winner at the function held in New Delhi recently.

During the meeting, Agnihotri was briefed by Nipun Jindal regarding the awards won by the Corporation. HRTC received the first prize of 50,000 for Tyre Performance Award, as the corporation has proven effective in maintaining the vehicles’s tyres to ensure long-term sustainability and performance. The second prize of Rs 25,000 was also given to the Corporation in three other categories, including Digital Transaction Award, Vehicle Utility Award, and Employee Productivity Award. “The accolades led to the prize money aggregating to Rs 1,25,000, as a part of HRTC’s great contributions to the public transport sector.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri commended the services of the HRTC employees saying that whole achievement of the Corporation was on account of constant service of its employees, particularly in hoary and difficult areas of the state. HRTC employees are the back bone of the Corporation and on daily basis over millions of people are being served by it, he added. The state government is firm and firm in favor of employees and is taking measures to strengthen the Corporation and its services, Agnihotri further assured.

The National Public Transport Excellence Awards is an accolade that celebrates the best in public transport, including efficiency, innovation and service quality and the recognition will help positioned Himachal Road Transport Corporation’s role in improving the overall facility of public transport services in the state.

Jindal expressed his gratitude to the state government, appreciating its support in empowering the Corporation to thrive in its operations. The meeting ended with a discussion of strengthening public transportation and looking for fresh opportunities for improvement in the future.

Besides, other senior officials of HRTC were also present during the meeting. The award win will certainly be motivational, encouraging the HRTC staff to continue delivering excellence in public transport services for the people of Himachal Pradesh.
