Himachal Pradesh: Class 12 English Exam Scheduled for March 8 Cancelled After Major Negligence

Dharamshala, March 07: In a shocking move, the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board on March 07 announced the cancellation of the Class 12 English exam scheduled on March 8. The move follows a major blunder in the examination process at the Chuwari School in the Chamba district, where the question paper for Class 12 was opened instead of the Class 10 exam paper.
Board officials said the error was quickly discovered, and the examination was immediately cancelled. The incident was so serious that the board moved quickly in response, it said. “We are probing the matter in detail … strict action will be taken against those responsible for this negligence,” a spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board said.
The same mistake — where a wrong set of question papers were distributed — has also led to widespread panic among students and parents both. The students now are wondering what to do next after the exam has been canceled. The board has stated that a new date of examination would soon be announced.
However, this incident has led to serious doubts about the credibility of the examination system in the state and whether adequate safeguards are in place to avoid repetitions of such ошибка in the future. It has given rise to an outcry among parents and students, who fear that this lapse could set them back in their academic progress and preparation.
The board is expected to re-evaluate its guidelines as investigation continues and inquiry is made. For students who have already dealt with major disruptions because of the pandemic, there’s the added uncertainty of a repositioned exam.
The board has promised that soon there will be an official announcement regarding the new exam date. In the meantime, students and families are left to wonder if anything will come of it.
