Dr. Arun Sharma (Retd. IAS) Book Released by Chief Minister

Shimla, March 6: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today released the book ‘Fraud in Files-A Compendium of Case Studies’ penned down by former IAS officer Dr. Arun Sharma at Oak Over, Shimla. MLA Sanjay Awasthy, MLA Suresh Kumar and other dignitaries were present during the event.

Chief Minister Sukhu lauded Dr. Sharma’s brilliance on the occasion and said that the book elucidates the shortcomings of institutions and brings them to the fore. He hailed the effort as a substantial progress in recognizing and fixing the problems in the system. Highlighting the state government’s determination to change and update the administrative framework, the Chief Minister said the government was working on amending obsolete laws and simplifying the governance process to ensure public services reach the citizens in the easiest, simplest and most convenient manner.

In a review of his book, Dr. Arun Sharma, elaborated it as an invisible, parallel system of governance operating outside the formal channels. He urged immediate reforms that would rein in such abuses and foster a more transparent and accountable system.

Chief Minister said other dignitaries were also present at the event, with his remarks emphasizing the need to resolve systemic issues towards an efficient, and people-centric government.

The release creates a strong momentum in the discourse on reform in governance and demand for accountability in public delivery in Himachal Pradesh.
