Shimla, February 4: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today launched a simple form for registration of farmers in natural farming in the state during the priority meeting of MLAs here. Farmers will be able to fill the form online or offline.
The Chief Minister said that interested farmers can now easily join natural farming by filling this form. He said that the registration form will contain some other details related to the farmers’ land, crops grown, breed of animals and training in natural farming. These forms will be distributed to farmers in all the panchayats of the state. This will give further boost to natural farming in the state in the year 2025-26.
Sukhu said that the state government has recently purchased 398.976 metric tonnes of naturally grown maize from 1508 farmers at the rate of Rs 30 per kg. He said that the state is providing the highest minimum support price on maize in the country. Similar procedure will be followed for the procurement of naturally produced wheat in the coming season, the minimum support price of which has been fixed at Rs 40 per kg. One kg and five kg packets of naturally produced maize flour are being made available to the people under the brand name ‘Him Bhog’.
He said that 38.225 metric tonnes of maize flour has been sold till February 1, 2025 through 1054 fair price shops and 73.52 metric tonnes of flour has been sold through wholesale units of Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited. Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Chandra Kumar said that ATMA staff will verify the form filled by the farmers. He said that the form will be linked with CITAR-NF (Certified Assessment Tool of Agricultural Resource Analysis of Natural Farming) of PK3Y portal.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, AYUSH Minister Yadvinder Goma, Vice Chairman of State Planning Board Bhawani Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLAs, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
