Shimla, January 28: As tourism grows in a region, local communities often face challenges such as littering and other environmental problems caused by visitors. A recent viral video from Himachal Pradesh highlights this issue, showing a man chasing after a tourist vehicle in the hill station, urging its passengers to stop discarding waste along the roadside.

The video, posted on Threads.net, shows a man chasing after a tempo traveller as its passengers continue to toss garbage in plastic bags out of the vehicle. At one point, the man boards the vehicle and confronts the passengers about their behavior. When one passenger mentions that children are unwell, the local responds, “Why can’t you ask the driver to park?” urging them to take responsibility for their actions.

“This is so wrong. Moreover, plastic is banned here. Please, I request you to keep the place clean and stop littering,” the man added.

He further asks the driver to intervene. “They didn’t tell me the kids were vomiting,” the driver replied.

The caption of the video read, “It’s shameful to see people who come to Himachal and leave behind a trail of litter as they go!!! Shame on these type of people!!!”

The video quickly gained traction online, sparking strong reactions from viewers who criticized the tourists’ behavior. One user expressed appreciation for the man’s efforts, writing, “I really appreciate your efforts. Sadly, these people will never understand.” Another user suggested a more widespread approach, commenting, “As locals of ecologically sensitive areas, let’s make this common. Record and politely ask them not to do it—especially in these areas.”

“Shameless people, why don’t the government doesn’t punish them the whole india deserve that,” a third user reacted.
