Statehood Day Celebrations at President’s Residence Shimla: Pahari Folk Artists Perform at ‘The Retreat’
(Shimla) Himachal Pradesh, Kumud Sharma, January 25: A special program was organized today at the Rashtrapati Niwas Chharabra on the 55th Full Statehood Day of Himachal Pradesh. Officers from various departments, hill folk artists, students and local people participated enthusiastically in the program. Manager of Rashtrapati Niwas Sanju Dogra said that this program is organized every year since the year 2023 by “The Retreat”. On this day, he has appealed to the youth of the state to stay away from drugs and keep the state clean.

During this several cultural programmes were presented in which a glimpse of the rich folk culture of the state was seen; the superb performance of hill folk singer Arun Justa, Abhigya The Band and the drama troupe of Kotshera College forced the present audience to dance. Not only students from the state but students from other states and foreign students also danced to it.
Talking to Diary Times, the foreign students appreciated the performance of the folk artists and the Kangri Dham served to the guests and also praised the natural beauty of the state.
At the same time, Oshin Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Department of Language, Art and Culture, who came to participate in the program, wished the people of the state a Happy Statehood Day and praised the arrangements made by the staff of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
