CM Sukhu visits fire-affected site in Tandi village

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a rent assistance of Rs 5,000 per month for six months to those living in rented houses. If the houses are not rebuilt, the rent will continue for an additional six months, along with Rs 50,000 for constructing cattle sheds.

Banjar (Kullu), (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 13 (Diary Times): Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today visited the site of fire in Tandi village of Banjar Valley in Kullu district and took stock of the relief work and met the affected families. He directed the officials to speed up the relief work on a war footing.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a rent assistance of Rs 5,000 per month for six months to those living in rented houses. If the houses are not rebuilt, the rent will continue for an additional six months, along with Rs 50,000 for constructing cattle sheds.

He also announced a financial aid of Rs 7 lakh for the construction of houses that have been completely destroyed and are no longer livable.

Additionally, the government will provide free electricity and water connections, wood for house construction as per rules, and essential goods, including utensils and clothes, for families whose belongings were burnt.

He also announced Rs 75 lakh for building a concrete road in the village and Rs 1 crore for repairing the 4 km road leading to the village.

The Chief Minister also announced to open a fire station in Banjar. He also assured to explore the possibility of setting up a solar power project to solve the problem of low voltage.

MLAs Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Surender Shourie, former minister Khimi Ram Sharma, Chairman of APMC Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti Ram Singh Mian, Chairman of Zila Parishad Pankaj Parmar, Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police Kullu were also present on the occasion.
