Elderly Man Brutally Attacked and Robbed in Hamirpur During Daylight Hours

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 10 (Diary Times): In a shocking act of daylight violence, a 65-year-old man, Kishori Lal, was attacked and robbed in Tareti village, located within the jurisdiction of the Nadaun police station in Hamirpur district. The elderly victim sustained severe head injuries during the brutal assault, and his assailants made off with ₹30,000 in cash and his mobile phone.

On Friday morning, around 11 a.m., a shocking incident unfolded near Papda in Amlahad. Kishori Lal, on his way to his sister’s house to deliver money, was halted by two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle, who demanded his mobile phone.

Before Kishori Lal could respond, one of the assailants struck him on the head from behind, rendering him unconscious.

When Kishori Lal regained consciousness, he was horrified to find that his belongings had been stolen. Despite his severe injuries, he managed to make his way to his sister’s house for help. She quickly took him to Nadaun hospital, where doctors confirmed he had sustained a serious head injury, requiring 15 stitches.

Dinesh Kumar, the victim’s son, promptly filed a complaint at the Nadaun police station. Superintendent of Police Bhagat Singh Thakur of Hamirpur confirmed the case has been registered and reassured the public that the authorities are actively working to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

The brutal attack has sparked fears about public safety in the area, leaving the local community deeply unsettled. The victim’s family is demanding swift and severe action against the perpetrators, calling on authorities to ensure justice is served.
